Neuropathy:
What exactly is neuropathy? The term is widely used but not necessarily explained. By itself, the term simply refers to pathology (disease) of a nerve. The next question should be "what is causing my neuropathy". This question is very important in understanding what treatment options may help reduce or even eliminate the symptoms as well as how the problem is likely to progress with time.
Neuropathy can affect many different things from the amount of sweat you produce to complete loss of feeling. Small nerve fibers transmit pain and temperature sensation. It is now possible to evaluate these fibers and detect neuropathy before symptoms even occur in patients who are at risk.
